Marilyn Adams Wins Safety Category
Recently Volvo announced the top three winning heroes in the 6th Annual Volvo for life Awards. Among them was Marilyn Adams of Earlham in the category of safety. After a tragic farm accident involving her son, Adams founded Farm Safety Just 4 Kids and set out to promote safe farm environments across the country.With this award comes a $100,000 contribution from Volvo to the charity of Marilyn’s choice. She will also be recognized at a ceremony this month in New York City where one overall winner will be presented with a new Volvo every three years for the rest of his or her life. Principal Charity Classic

This year golf legends from across the country will tee up at Glen Oaks Country Club in West Des Moines and Cadillac will, once again, be a big part of this event. The Principal Charity Classic is the premier golf event in Iowa. As an annual stop on the PGA Champions Tour, The Principal Charity Classic will host 78 professional players competing for a $1.725 million purse. 2007 Champion Jay Haas will be back to defend his title against another great field on the Champions Tour. Newcomers Nick Price, Mark O'Meara, and Hal Sutton are expected to compete with returning favorites, Fuzzy Zoeller, Hale Irwin, Loren Roberts, Jim Thorpe, and many more. After the success of last year’s inaugural race, the 2008 Hy-Vee Triathlon promises to raise the bar.
