On a cold Saturday in January, the Betts Auto Campus welcomed Olympic hopeful Shawn Johnson to our dealership where we presented her with an LR2 in honor of the gymnastics champion’s 16th birthday. The West Des Moines native began her career at the young age of three. Now an international elite gymnast, Johnson has already won several impressive titles including 2007 Pan American All-Around Champion, 2007 American Cup All-Around Champion, 2007 National Champion, and 2007 World Champion. Iowa Woman Is a Finalist in Volvo for life Awards
Betts is delighted to report that Marilyn Adams of Earlham, who we told you about in the December eNews, has been selected as one of the top three heroes in the Safety category of the 6th Annual Volvo for life Awards. Marilyn founded Farm Safety 4 Kids and set out on a mission to promote safe farm environments. As a category finalist, Marilyn is guaranteed $25,000 for her charity. The three category winners will receive $100,000 for their charities. One extraordinary winner will receive a new Volvo car every three years for life. The final decision now rests with a panel of celebrity judges including Hank Aaron and Sally Ride who will name the top four winners and the grand award winner on March 19th in New York City.
