 $45,000 to Benefit Civic Center’s Education Program
Last December, we kicked off the Betts Lexus Drive for Kids in support of the Civic Center’s education programs. When you give this gift of live theatre and educational opportunities to young Iowans it counts double. That’s because your donations up to $25,000 are being matched by Betts Lexus and Lexus. Since we began this program last month, we are thrilled to report that we have already received $22,681 in donations. With matching funds this comes out to over $45,000 raised for the Civic Center’s education programs in just one month. To those of you who have already donated, we wanted to say thank you.  Hummer Salutes Rod Hall’s 40th Baja Anniversary
A living legend in off-road racing and one of the only 33 members of the Off-Road Motorsports Hall of Fame, Rod Hall has spent his entire adult life around four-wheel vehicles. In 1967 Hall won the inaugural Baja 1000 and has participated in every one since, claiming a record 17th Baja victory in 2002. Hall remains the only driver to win Baja overall in a four-wheel vehicle. He has accumulated over 150 major event wins and more than a dozen championship titles. In addition to being the owner of Team Hummer racing, Hall is also a Hummer dealer. Rod and his sons competed behind the wheel of three production race vehicles at last fall’s 40th anniversary of the Baja 1000. We salute the Halls and wish them luck as they continue to represent the Hummer spirit of off-road adventure. |
